A SNOWGLOBE once loved fairy tales so much that she dreamt of one day going on "fairy tale" vacations. Seeing her enthusiasm, the rest of the Christmas ornaments in the household bought her three tickets to whatever destination she felt best.
The snowglobe welcomed their gift. Using her first ticket, she went to distant Lapland and the village of Santa Claus, thinking that it was probably the most fitting choice of all. Soon, however, she got very disappointed as instead of Santa Claus, an actor that was dressed up in a costume was to be found welcoming her."This is my primary occupation...", the actor justified himself as she tested his beard to make sure he was not the real Santa.
She, then, departed for her second destination, which was none other than Disneyland in Paris, dreaming that this would be the realization of her big dream. So impressed was she by the theme park's beauty even that she couldn't stop exploring it. At some point, she came across Sleeping Beauty's Castle. "It's taken straight out of a fairy tale!", exclaimed our good snowglobe at the Castle’s sight and ran to its gates. Soon enough she was so carried away by the experience that she felt lost inside the magnificent corridors of the palace. Yet what troubled her was that she came across none of the heroes of the fairy tale. "Well, that's because it's not the real Castle", a decorative ball told her, adding: "if you want the original one, you should visit Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria".
"I deserve to live a real fairy tale", thought the snowglobe and booked her third ticket for Bavaria to see the Castle that had inspired the creators of Sleeping Beauty. After travelling for days through snowy valleys and white forests, she saw the Castle peek out between the tall mountains on the horizon. "It's incredible!", exclaimed the snowglobe and then walked through the main gate, losing herself once more in the empty corridors and rooms, this time hoping to find some fairy tale heroes to talk to. Something truly remarkable happened then: so magnificent was the Palace that, while not a soul was to be found inside, she kept imagining all her favorite fairy tale heroes walking in it and seeing them come alive in front of her eyes as they guided her through the rooms of the Palace.
"Such a remarkable experience!", exclaimed the snowglobe as she finished her tour of the Castle. As soon as she was back home, she told her experience to the other Christmas ornaments who listened to her with great excitement. Analyzing it even further, she concluded that fairy tales live first and foremost in our imagination.
Since that time, she can't stop talking about how she lived her most 'fairy tale' experience of all times.
