A GLASS OF COLD COFFEE that lived in a household once felt very nostalgic about summertime. "I can still feel the islands calling me", he kept saying and gazed at the window outside with great despair, as it was still winter.

Feeling he had enough, he one day decided to go to the sea all by himself. After packing all his belongings, he bought an umbrella, towels, sunscreen, goggles and flippers, and walked to the nearest beach from which he could see the islands on the horizon. As soon as he got there, however, he got very disappointed as not a soul was to be found. "It doesn't matter, I could take a dive all alone...", he murmured to himself as he buried the umbrella in the sand.

After wearing his swimmies and flippers, he made the first attempt to get in the sea. No sooner had he touched  the surface of the water, however, than he felt the chill of it. "It's a pity to come all this way for nothing", he thought, and then, after plucking as much courage as possible, made another two reluctant steps. Eventually, he managed to hold himself for a minute before the cold became unbearable.

"I see you are a... winter swimmer!", an ice cube that swam gracefully only a few meters away from him told him as he shook. "Well, I am not, and this is why I froze", the glass of coffee replied with shame, and the ice cube burst into laughter.

"Then it's best if you wait again till next summer so you can truly enjoy your swim", the ice cube added, knowing that the seas are usually too cold to swim in during the winter months.

Then, with the wind blowing, our good coffee glass ran to the safety of the beach and covered his body with a towel so as to protect himself from the cold as wild wind started to blow. As grey clouds gathered in the sky and hid the Sun, he hastily packed his stuff and left the beach.

"All in good time then", a cup of hot chocolate told our good cold coffee once he returned home and told her his story. And truth be told, when it became summer again, the cold coffee of our story enjoyed his baths so much that he even lost count of the days.
