A LONG TIME AGO, atop a hill near ancient Nemea in Corinth, Greece, lived a goat, which a lion that happened to walk by took notice of.

The lion said: "My dear neighbor, do you really prefer this hard and inhospitable rock to the luxury and comfort of the soft grass? If you step down from the rock, you will have beautiful flowers at your feet."

"I happen to have bad neighbors which I do not trust at all, my dear master. The rock also gives me protection from them, as I am the only one in your Kingdom who can climb it. No other animal can compete with me, not even… their great King".

And so, the goat was saved from the cunning lion.
