A SUITCASE that once lived in a household boasted of having memories from all around the world.
“Then tell us what’s the most romantic city you’ve ever visited”, the other bags and packs asked her one day, jealous of her for having travelled so much. She enjoyed hearing it, yet found it really hard to decide.
So, she went down to the house’s basement where she found a big album, filled with photos from places from all over the globe.
“Rome is pure beauty!”, she exclaimed as soon as she came across photos of the famous Italian capital. After listing all the fountains to be found in the city, she admitted it was indeed a very romantic destination.
“Verona in northern Italy is also very nice”, she kept on, showing the other bags photos of the city. She then explained to them that the city was so romantic that it was even Shakespeare’s inspiration for his biggest play “Romeo & Juliette”.
“Yet, what could possibly be compared to the finesse of Venice”, the suitcase kept wondering, then felt moved as all sorts of memories from romantic gondola rides and nightly strolls through the city’s numerous canals and cobbled streets came to her mind, along with the well – known carnival.
“A pity we have to travel to Italy to find any romantic place like that”, the other bags told her with great disappointment as they saw her closing the album.
A small photo then dropped from the album, and the suitcase picked it up. As soon as she saw the content of the photo, tears came to her eyes and memories flooded her mind.
It was a photo of Liston in Corfu, Greece.
